Saskatchewan Junior Pats Primed for Annual Brick Tournament

June 27, 2017

The Saskatchewan Junior Pats are headed to the 2017 Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament this weekend.

The tournament will get underway on Monday July 3 at the West Edmonton Mall’s hockey rink in Edmonton, Alberta.

“The Sask Jr. Pats Brick Team hit the ice at the start of April and have competed in 4 tournaments, the Alberta Champions Cup, City of Bridges, Regina Subaru Classic and the NAHC in Winnipeg” said Head Coach Dave Hnatiuk.  “As a team we have come along way and the boys have definitely bought into a team first mentality. Their commitment and work ethic have been outstanding over the past few months and there is no doubt in my mind that they are ready to compete to the best of their ability.  It has been a process, as the Coach, and with the help of my assistant we have stuck to our plan and we have been getting better each and every week.”

The Sask Jr. Pats will start the tournament on July 3rd against Team Minnesota at 2:10 p.m. local time.

“There is no doubt in my mind that we are well prepared and focused to compete” said Hnatiuk. “We are ready for the challenge of playing in the highest profile tournament for their age in North America. The boys understand the opportunity that they have created for themselves and we are counting down the days until puck drop.”
